Wellington Festival - Twaite shad

DUE TO THE CORONAVIRUS SITUATION, THE WELLINGTON FESTIVAL IS NOW CANCELLED. MARCH 2020.

Our contribution to this year's Festival is a joint one with Charlton School, Dothill Primary School and the Canal & River Trust.

Whatever happened to Twaite shad?

What is a Twaite shad? Wel, it's one of the rarest fish in the UK. Once important to the River Severn economy, it was almost driven to extinction by human activity on the river. There is now a major project to bring it back, and this event is the launch of the awareness campaign in the Telford area. The launch will be followed by a permanent exhibition at Ironbridge Museums.

Date: Monday 5th May, time TBC

Location: Charlton School

Tickets, when available, are FREE from Wellington Town Council.
