Wetland Update - November 2019
You may recently have spotted a large digger on the Reserve. This heralds the implementation
of the last of three wetland restoration / flood relief projects, in a joint venture with the Environment Agency, Telford & Wrekin Council and Shropshire Wildlife Trust. The aim is to introduce a wetland environment by scraping approximately 0.5m depth
of soil to reclaim a low swathe of land. The removed soil will be used to create a small mound around the lowered area in order to retain water and create a marsh habitat.
We hope to encourage the return of some of those species the area used
to be home to, thus increasing the bio-diversity of the site and making the Reserve an even richer haven for wildlife.
